Log onto Wikipedia...Look up "Aircraft Carriers in Service", and then sort the columns by "Tonnage".What you will see is an OVERWHELMING United States advantage in naval aviation that all the world's navies combined could not match. Now, look up the preceding class of aircraft carriers that the United States had previously used: Constellation, Forrestal, and Kitty Hawk class and compare their tonnages against the rest of the world's fleet of aircraft carriers.Yep... Even the carriers we're scrapping for a penny apiece are more capable, and carry more planes than the rest of the world's navies. Now go back to the original list of in service carriers and note that our overwhelming fleet of Nimitz class carriers are now being supplanted by a whole new class of aircraft carrier known as the Ford Class. Now it's just getting stupid. Anyone have any better ideas on where the United States should be spending all these wasted dollars? Maybe repairing some bridges?
Over the past 10 years, China has built thousands of miles of high speed rail throughout their country. United States? None.
The American Southwest is about to seriously dry out from both global warming and poor water management. What's the United States doing about that? Building more aircraft carriers? That just doesn't sound reasonable.
